Nature-based Learning
The Oak Learning Center engages children in highly interactive outdoor learning that encourages them to explore the world around them while acquiring important skills that will prepare them for kindergarten.

Students will get “down and dirty” as they interact with wildlife, plants and other resources to create a developmentally appropriate and meaningful outdoor experience.  In this program, children can expect to hike trails, track animals, look for and identify different types of birds, insects and plants, explore ponds and more. Rain or shine, we will be exploring all that nature has to teach us!

Nature provides a constantly changing environment that engages all the senses. In order to take full advantage of the nature-based activities, a majority of the program lessons will be held outside in most weather conditions which means clothing, coats, boots, etc. will get muddy, wet and dirty. Parents should dress children appropriately for the weather and provide a change of clothing to remain at school.
